A LEGACY BUILT TO INSPIRE.
If this becomes reality, it would be more than just the name of a building — it would become a symbol of hope, perseverance, and inspiration for generations to come.
Imagine the newly built gymnasium in Agusan del Sur, the same venue that witnessed dreams during the Palarong Pambansa, carrying the name “Rene Clert Baterbonia Gymnasium” — a tribute to a young athlete whose story moved an entire province.
Born and raised in Talacogon, Agusan del Sur, Rene Clert Baterbonia was more than an exceptional basketball player. He was a son, a brother, a dreamer, and a humble young man who carried not only his family’s hopes, but also the pride of his hometown. From dominating the hardwood and becoming a Palarong Pambansa MVP, to chasing bigger dreams in Manila, Rene showed what hard work, discipline, and faith could achieve.
Though his life was tragically cut short in 2026, his impact remains immeasurable.
To name a gymnasium after Rene would mean that every athlete stepping onto its court will remember one powerful truth: greatness is not measured only by trophies and victories, but by the lives you inspire and the legacy you leave behind.
Every bounce of the ball, every sacrifice, every dream born inside that gym would echo the story of a young boy from Agusan del Sur who dared to dream big.
Because some names deserve to live forever — not only in memory, but in places where dreams continue to rise.
“Rene Clert Baterbonia Gymnasium” — a name worthy of remembrance. 🤍🕊️
