JAPAN, SUMUPORTA SA WASTE-TO-ENERGY PROJECT NG DAVAO CITY

Sinabi ng Japanโ€™s top envoy sa Pilipinas na makatutulong ang makabagong waste-to-energy (WTE) technology sa pagtugon sa lumalaking problema sa basura ng Davao City, habang isinusulong ang proyekto sa kabila ng patuloy na public scrutiny.

Plano ng Davao City na magtayo ng โ‚ฑ2.5 bilyon hanggang โ‚ฑ10 bilyong WTE facility sa 10-hectare property sa Biao Escuela, Tugbok District.

Gayunman, nahaharap sa pagkaantala ang proyekto dahil sa pagtutol ng ilang environmental groups.

Nakipagtulungan naman ang Davao City sa Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) upang pag-aralan ang technical feasibility at financial viability ng proyekto.
