Grateful to be invited as one of the providers for Seb's First Birthday at The Club at Northtown Cabantian last Sunday, February 22, 2026.

It was exhausting.

But it was so fulfilling.

As a mom and a handcraft pizza maker, it was gratifying that the pizzas I made for my children are now being discovered and enjoyed by high-class clients here in Davao City. Watching them indulge in every slice of Genco Pizza's flavors and then come back again and again. To hear the sounds they make because the pizzas were that good. I was compensated well, but those moments were the cherry on top.

I love every single bit of every single encounter I made. I saw moms excitedly prepare pizzas with their child and dads document everything with their phones. Man, that's how this Genco Pizza madness began back in 2020. I cooked, my son, Don Vito fell in love with all the Five Cheeses that my husband, the filmmaker, shot an excellent marketing video out of it.

I'm so sorry I stopped. Now that I'm back, and the reception is this warm, people even calling me insane by keeping Genco Pizza low-key and obscure, it would be a dishonor to stop again. Because I'd be robbing myself of these precious moments I make with my customers who arrive curious and leave satisfied with the pizza gourmet that is Italian-inspired, homemade with love.

You will never feel fully ready... and that’s exactly when you move.

Cooking Italian-inspired pizzas live and non-stop for our client’s family and friends was a different experience, even though we’ve done many pop-ups before. Four straight hours. No pause. The wood-fired oven never rested. The queue never stopped. Platters never stayed full. People wanted a slice of every Genco Pizza flavor.

It was overwhelming. Our backs ached. Our bodies were sore. But it was deeply rewarding. The exclamations. The compliments. The familiar faces returning for another slice. 🤍

I expected the appreciation. The pizzas I created in 2020 were always meant for people who refuse to compromise on quality and class. What I didn’t expect was how large (and how joyful) the audience would be.

I saw myself in them, and I, too, was joyful.

It was also our first time teaching young children how to shape fermented dough and build their own pizzas. Perhaps being a mother prepared me for that moment. Not one child was spoiled. They were focused, curious, and proud.

What moved me even more were the mothers who joined in, shaping dough beside their children, and choosing toppings together. It brought me back to why I started Genco Pizza in the first place: Italian-inspired, homemade with love for the people who matter most. Watching those eager faces share that simple moment was a different kind of reward.

There is never a perfect time to feel ready. Last year, when this client first asked for my pizza party package, I delayed replying. Not because I felt unworthy, but because I thought I couldn’t do it.

Sometimes you have to silence the doubt and just move. Before you know it, it’s over.

I’m glad I moved.

Next time, the delicious level stays at 1000 percent. The service will be even faster. 😉

Don Vito is back and this time behind the station. Catch Genco Pizza’s hyper-creative, hyper-active pizzaiolo-in-training at Tala Cafe, making fresh, made-to-order pizzas while you wait.

He first became Genco Pizza’s endorser at seven. Now at twelve, and by his own choice, he’s stepping behind to cook for real customers, dreaming of running his own branch someday.

This is a young creator finding his way: learning craft, discipline, and confidence in a mad, chaotic world.
