On Earth Day 🌏, Apo Agua, together with our partners, took meaningful action to help protect what sustains us all: our watershed.

A total of 427 mix of Bayog and Molave seedlings were planted by 103 volunteers in Brgy. Wines, Baguio District, this area is part of Apo Agua Adopt-a-site Project. This collective effort, in collaboration with DENR XI, CENRO, Aboitiz Construction, Yes Tac Security Agency, Work Experts and Allied Services, Inc., Barangay Wines, Mount Tipolog Bantay Kinaiyahan Association Inc. (MTBKAI), Bantay Bukid Cluster 2, and RPSB, reflects a shared commitment to safeguarding our natural resources.

This tree-growing initiative supports the protection of the Panigan-Tamugan Watershed, helping secure a sustainable water supply for Davao City. 💧

BUILDING A SUSTAINABLE WATER FUTURE TOGETHER 💧

Did you know we’re giving our groundwater a helping hand?

By bringing in more treated water from the Tamugan River through the Davao City Bulk Water Supply Project, surface water now supplies 79% of DCWD’s drinking water requirements- a significant jump from 67% last year! 📈

To meet our city's growing needs, DCWD utilizes a conjunctive water supply strategy. By balancing surface water with groundwater, we create a more resilient system. This approach ensures a more reliable system ready to serve every Davaoeño.

Watershed protection is a team effort! 🤝

For World Water Day, Apo Agua joined forces with Aboitiz Construction, Apo Agua security partners, host barangay volunteers from Brgy. Tamugan & Brgy. Gumalag, and the Davao City Police Office - Revitalized Pulis sa Barangay Clusters 6 and 13, to clear 147.1 kg of waste from the Panigan-Tamugan River.

This initiative along our community Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) sessions under the Davao City Bulk Water Supply Project, continues to emphasize our mission that when we protect our water source together, we’re advocating for a future where our water remains clean and sustainable for every Davaoeño.
