Gran Verde Family Farm

Gran Verde Family Farm Open for prebooked tours, no walk=ins. It is the single origin cacao bean used in crafting all treats of Wit's Sweets and Savouries.

Gran Verde is a regenerative farm guided by permaculture and local wisdom, growing healing food and transforming land into an edible forest that restores soil, supports biodiversity, and reconnects people to culture. Nestled in the fertile landscapes of Calinan, Davao City, Gran Verde Farm is a family-run oasis dedicated to sustainable farming and natural experiences. Specializing in the cultivati

on of cacao and a variety of fresh produce, our farm embodies a commitment to organic practices and biodiversity. Predominantly producing cacao beans of the Trinitario variety, Gran Verde seeks to supply dried and fermented beans to the local and global market. Gran Verde works with the Davao Cacao Industry Council and Cacao City Marketing Cooperative to promote sustainable practices for cacao production and processing. In addition to our vibrant produce, Gran Verde is home to stingless bee colonies, contributing to our holistic approach to farming by supporting natural pollination and producing exquisite honey. At Gran Verde, we also offer a truly unique and immersive cacao experience, where visitors can explore the journey of cacao from bean to bar. Whether you're tasting our freshly harvested cacao, engaging in the beekeeping process, or simply soaking in the natural beauty of our farm, you'll leave with a deeper connection to the land and its bounty. Gran Verde is more than just a farm—it's a celebration of nature, sustainability, and community.

Permaculture is much more than a way of growing food—it is a way of seeing the world. 🌿 Every observation, every relationship, and every challenge becomes an opportunity to design with intention rather than react by habit. It changes how we care for the land, how we make decisions, and even how we live our daily lives. At Gran Verde's Permaculture Workshop, we don't just learn new techniques—we begin to see the world through a lens of abundance, connection, and regeneration. 🌱
Join us this July 17-21 for Batayang Kaalaman sa Permakultura ♥️

One of the greatest rewards of this journey is seeing farmers grow into teachers. 🌱💚 I couldn't be prouder of Lolong and Inday Echavez of Gran Verde for stepping up to help train fellow farmers from Maragusan and Montevista during the Kakaw Aral segment of Kasadya sa Kulturang Kakaw 2026. They were ably supported by Lando Desales and Cha Bacalso, proving that the most meaningful lessons are often shared farmer-to-farmer.

Our heartfelt thanks to the MAMPCO team led by GM Armando Escuadro for graciously hosting the activity, to Angelie Robin for her seamless organization, and to MEDA for continuing to support the Cacao Regenerative Farming Caravan. Together, we are working toward one goal—equipping 200 cacao farmers with regenerative farming knowledge that strengthens livelihoods, restores soils, and builds a more resilient cacao industry.

Some journeys are measured not just in kilometers, but in purpose. It was an honor to welcome Thom Kellenberger, a Swiss long distance hiker who led the inspiring team from Island Kids Philippines Foundation and Bata-Alima Foundation.

Despite the pouring rain and the long drive from Cagayan de Oro, they came with one goal—to learn how healthy soil can restore farms, communities, and futures.
Seeing young agriculturists eager to get their hands in the soil, ask thoughtful questions, and embrace regenerative agriculture reminds us that real change begins with curiosity and commitment. Thank you for making the journey. May the seeds of regeneration you planted here continue to grow wherever your path leads.

Growing your own food is about more than having a garden. It's about nourishing yourself with fresh produce, reducing everyday expenses, caring for the environment, and building a deeper connection with the land that feeds us.

These are just some of the reasons why people around the world are turning to permaculture as a way of living more intentionally and sustainably.🌱
