🥚 How an Egg is Formed 🐔

Did you know it only takes 24–26 hours for a hen to form an egg? Nature’s process is truly amazing!

🔑 Key Stages

Ovaries – where the yolk begins as an ovule.

Oviduct (Fallopian tube) – the yolk passes through here.

Fertilization – happens only if a rooster is present.

Albumen (egg white) – proteins form layers around the yolk.

Shell – calcium carbonate builds a strong protective covering.

Cloaca – the egg is laid.

Shell – hard protective barrier.

Shell membranes – antibacterial defense.

Air cell – pocket that stores oxygen.

Germinal disc – starting point of a chick (if fertilized).

Yolk – nutrient-rich and energy-packed.
