Come to think of it, just remove the animal meat in our local dishes and you have a lot of plant-based dishes to start with.

Eliminate beef or pork in Nilaga.
Eliminate beef in Kare-Kare.
Eliminate fish and pork in Ginisang Munggo.
Eliminate chicken in Tinola.
Eliminate pork in Menudo.

Eliminate the animal protein of a particular dish, Then, ADD more vegetables to make it plant-based. You may also add alternatives like mushrooms and legumes, as applicable. For flavors, add more condiments, spices, and flavorings.

Add more vegetables and corn in Nilaga.
Add more vegetables and nuts in Kare-Kare.
Add more vegetables and seaweed in Ginisang Munggo.
Add more sayote and oyster mushroom in Tinola.
Add more vegetables, tempeh, and green peas in Menudo.

Eliminate. Then, Add. Simple, right?

The taste would be different at first, yes. (It's actually more delicious for me.) But did you know that the average lifespan of a taste bud cell may only be about 250 hours? That means each of our taste buds could get replaced every ten days or so. That’s why some individuals suddenly became sensitive to salt or oil or sweets when they went plant-based. And some suddenly became more aware of the natural taste of plant foods.
