'KAYA NG TAPANG AT MALASAKIT, PERO HINDI NA KAYA NG 81 YEARS OLD NIYANG KATAWAN ANG KULUNGAN'

Sen. Robin Padilla said he became emotional after seeing former President Rodrigo Duterte appear in person before the International Criminal Court for the first time in more than a year.

“I know what prison is all about. It’s hard to say. Noong huli kami magkasama sa Hongkong bago siya na-‘kidnap’ nong 2025, he was not even fit to campaign,” Padilla said.

Padilla also maintained that Duterte is not fit to stand trial in his crimes against humanity case before the ICC. | via News5

'I'M SINGLE TOO'

Retired Chief Justice Artemio Panganiban drew laughter during Senate Impeachment Court proceedings after jokingly telling Senator-judge Risa Hontiveros that he is still single.

Panganiban, who appeared as an amicus curiae to give his legal opinion on the voting threshold required for a conviction, asked to be excused by 3 p.m. because he was still jet-lagged and sleepy, but continued answering questions from the senator-judges.

The light moment came after Hontiveros thanked Panganiban and other retired justices for their continued service, prompting him to quip, “I may be retired, but I’m not retarded,” before later joking about answering Hontiveros’ questions even in private and adding, “I forgot to mention, I’m single too.”
