Ayon kay Agriculture Secretary Francisco P. Tiu Laurel Jr., ang bagong batas na—Republic Act 12308 o ang Animal Industry Development and Competitiveness Act (AIDCA) ay makakatulong upang mas mapatibay at i-modernisa ang mga programa ng Department of Agriculture para sa livestock, poultry, at dairy sectors. Sa ilalim ng batas na ito, may nakalaang ₱200 bilyon na pondo sa loob ng 10 taon upang suportahan ang layunin na magkaroon tayo ng food-secure at resilient agricultural economy.
