A serious air traffic incident involving two Boeing 777 aircraft—operated by United Airlines and FedEx—occurred over the North Atlantic in June 2024, though it was only publicly reported on June 26, 2025.

⚠️ Incident Summary
Two Boeing 777s were cruising at the same altitude on converging tracks over the North Atlantic when a loss of separation occurred.

🔍 Key Details
• Both aircraft were cleared by air traffic control to the same flight level.
• They came within approximately 1,000 feet vertically and less than 3 nautical miles horizontally—well below the required separation standards in oceanic airspace (typically 1,000 feet vertical and 5 NM horizontal).
• The Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) on both aircraft issued Resolution Advisories (RAs), instructing the pilots to take immediate evasive action.
• Both flight crews complied with their TCAS commands and successfully avoided a collision.

✅ Outcome
There was no collision, and both aircraft continued safely to their destinations.

• The incident is currently under investigation by the FAA, NTSB, and NAV CANADA.
