Magalawa Island spans approximately 56 hectares and is part of the Masinloc and Oyon Bay Protected Landscape and Seascape, a protected area established in 1993. The island boasts pristine beaches, lush mangrove forests, and thriving coral reefs, making it a haven for nature lovers and beach enthusiasts alike.

🏖️ Activities and Attractions

Visitors to Magalawa Island can enjoy a variety of activities:

Swimming and Snorkeling: The island's clear waters are perfect for swimming and exploring the vibrant marine life.

Camping: There are designated areas for camping, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in nature.

Mangrove Exploration: The southern part of the island features mangrove forests, which can be explored for a unique ecological experience.

Island Strolling: The northern part of the island offers scenic spots for leisurely walks.

Starfish Spotting: The shores are teeming with starfish, providing excellent opportunities for photography and observation.

🚗 Getting There from Manila

To reach Magalawa Island from Manila:

1. Bus Ride: Take a Victory Liner bus bound for Sta. Cruz or Iba, Zambales.

2. Drop-off Point: Alight at Barangay Pangolingan in Palauig, Zambales. Look for the waiting shed beside JB Sari-Sari Store, near Radio Veritas Road.

3. Tricycle Ride: From the drop-off point, hire a tricycle to Luan Port. The ride takes approximately 30-40 minutes.

4. Boat Transfer: At Luan Port, boats are available to take you to Magalawa Island. It's advisable to book in advance, especially during peak seasons.
