Bringing back the memories
Grandma’s fried chicken is a family run business in Iloilo. The idea started when the love for food of the cook’s husband inspired her to make something in the kitchen. She thought of a popular dish which was fried chicken but added a little twist to it. She made her own savory gravy sauce and coleslaw as a side dish. Lo and behold, her husband and children loved it. So, they decided to open up Grandma’s Fried Chicken restaurant in 1985. Its first home was Amigo plaza and over the years, they were able to branch out and had three more stores in Molo, Lapaz and Ledi Supermart Jaro.
They decided to close the establishment in the early 2000s. But, the flavor and taste stuck in the Ilonggo’s minds. As Homaru Cantu would say, “ Most of us have fond memories of food from our childhood. Whether it was our Mom’s homemade lasagna or a memorable chocolate birthday cake, food has a way of transporting us back to the past”. So, here we are, bringing back one of your childhood favorites. We hope you will be able to share the joy our food brings to your children as well.
Love, Grandma’s!
