No level of kindness, love or generosity will ever be good enough for anyone who is ungrateful. They don’t see effort; they just see what’s lacking. You can give your time, you can give them your love and energy and heart, and still it gets meted out as if in some confiscation system. Unappreciative people see faults, not sacrifices. They have inherited without saying thank you, and insist on inheriting again. One day, you’ll recognize that the problem can’t be you. Know your worth. Keep your kindness for those who appreciate (dare I say love) it and give you their gratitude, not a sense of entitlement.
