‘THIS IS NOT A THREAT TO STOP OPERATIONS. THIS IS A NOTICE THAT OPERATIONS MAY SOON BECOME IMPOSSIBLE’

Nanawagan ang Victory Liner ng aksyon kay Pres. Bongbong Marcos at sa iba’t ibang ahensya ng gobyerno sa gitna ng patuloy na taas-presyo sa ilang produktong petrolyo.

“No industry can survive when its regulated revenue is lower than the actual cost of delivering its service,” saad nito.

“We do not ask for charity. We ask for urgent action. We ask for a fair and sustainable fare,” dagdag pa nito.

DAVAO LIGHT MONITORS MINDANAO POWER SITUATION FOLLOWING RED ALERT ADVISORY

Davao Light and Power Company is closely monitoring the Mindanao power supply situation following the Red Alert advisory issued by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) on September 3 due to tight supply conditions in the grid.

The power distributor stated that tight supply stems from unavailable generating units coupled with high electricity demand. While measures have been activated to manage available supply and minimize impact on customers, Davao Light warned that power interruptions may still occur if supply conditions do not improve.

Customers are urged to use electricity wisely, especially during peak hours, and to monitor Davao Light’s official communication channels for further updates.

CAN THE PHILIPPINES STILL HIT ITS GROWTH TARGETS?

Speaking on , former Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno said it will be difficult for the Marcos administration to achieve its 6.5% to 8% growth target before the end of its term. He said that if the country can sustain 5% to 6% growth over the long term, it would already be a solid outcome. For Diokno, the bigger priority is creating quality jobs and boosting domestic demand, since household spending accounts for about 75% of the Philippine economy.

To keep the economy growing, Diokno said the government must first restore public confidence. He urged President Marcos to use his line-item veto to remove questionable budget items and strengthen transparency in government spending. According to Diokno, better budget discipline can help reduce corruption, rebuild trust, and create a stronger foundation for long-term economic growth.
