Riza D. Meperanum’s journey toward earning her Master of Science in Horticulture was never easy. There were sleepless nights, countless revisions, research challenges, moments of self-doubt, and sacrifices that often went unseen. Yet through every obstacle, she remained steadfast because she was not only pursuing her own dreams—she was also pursuing the dreams her parents once held for her.
As a DOST-SEI Scholar (Iska ng Bayan), she embraced the responsibility of excellence, knowing that education is one of the greatest gifts she could offer to her family. Through dedication and perseverance, she became an author and researcher, contributing valuable knowledge to horticultural science through her studies on chrysanthemum vase life extension and strawberry production using organic fruit peel formulations.
There were days when the journey felt heavy, especially when she had to stand strong on her own. But every challenge became a reminder of why she started. The sacrifices of her parents became her motivation. Their hopes became her strength. Their prayers became her guiding light.
Today, as she proudly wears her academic regalia, this moment is more than a personal victory. It is a tribute to the love, sacrifices, and unwavering faith of her parents. Every page of her thesis, every research finding, and every milestone achieved carries a piece of their dream.
This graduation is proof that dreams planted by loving parents can bloom through the determination of a devoted daughter.
