Team 3 Dominates First DevCom Day Communication Media and Indigenous Competitions
The event showcased students’ talents, creativity, and appreciation of culture through various communication media and indigenous games competitions.
Different teams demonstrated outstanding performance. In the Vocal Solo Competition, Team 4 secured first place, followed by Team 3, Team 5, and Team 1. The Duet Competition was dominated by Team 5, with Team 2 placing second, Team 3 third, and Team 4 fourth. Meanwhile, Team 3 led the Fitness Dance Competition, with Team 1, Team 4, and Team 2 completing the rankings.
For the Photography Category, Team 2 submitted the highest number of entries with six photos, followed by Team 1 with five, Team 3 with four, and Team 4 with one entry. In Videography, Team 1 emerged as champion, followed by Team 3, Team 4, and Team 2.
The Trailer Parody Competition highlighted students’ creativity, storytelling, acting skills, with Team 3 winning first place. Team 1 placed second, Team 4 third, and Team 2 fourth.
Several special awards were also given during the parody competition. Marlon Baldo received the Extra Service Award, while Jovanni Ponchopnan was recognized as Scene Stealer. Norman De Leon was awarded Best Supporting Character. Dan Guyuchan and Fely Butale were named Leading Man and Leading Lady, respectively. Faith Dumangeng earned Best Actress, and Jimmy Garcia was recognized as Best Actor. Team 3 dominated most technical awards, including Best Production, Best Editing, Best in Lip Sync, YFLF, Ctrl C Ctrl V, and Best in Aesthetic. Meanwhile, Team 4 received the Most Engagement Award.
The celebration also featured indigenous games, promoting cultural appreciation and teamwork. In Guyyudan, Team 2 (male category) and Team 4 (female category) emerged as champions. For Hanngul, Team 4 (male) and Team 1 (female) took first place. In Bangunan (male category), Team 2 led the competition. In Hinukting, Team 3 dominated both male and female categories.
At the end of the event, Team 3 was declared the Overall Champion, followed by Team 1 as first runner-up, Team 2 as second runner-up, and Team 4 in third place.
The successful conduct of the DevCom Day highlighted the importance of communication, collaboration, and cultural identity, reinforcing the students’ skills and holistic development beyond the classroom.
