Hamonada or Hamonado means “to be prepared like ham” in Spanish. This dish is usually served in many Filipino celebrations, especially during fiestas in provinces which brings back childhood memories of Christmas family get-togethers. Given its decadent nature, one will surely reach for extra helpings of steamed rice.
We are giving it our own sweet twist by adding 𝘢𝘻𝘶𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘢 (dried banana blossom) instead of pineapple. Our Pork Hamonada is served with a side of homemade bao buns. You can try this at our Allegro Restaurant.
𝗣𝗥𝗢 𝗧𝗜𝗣: Another way of eating this is by making a sandwich of the bao buns with a slice of pork hamonada, coriander, sili espada, and pickled veggies. Trust us, it takes the flavor to a whole new different level.
