Ever wondered about the striking, golden-edged beauties lining our pathways here at Farm ni Ambo? This is the gorgeous Variegated Century Plant (Agave americana 'Marginata')! ✨
Not only do they look stunning with their sharp, architectural leaves, but they also have a fascinating life story. Did you know these plants are monocarpic? They live gracefully for 10 to 30 years, put on an incredible, grand finale show by growing one massive flower spike, and then complete their beautiful life cycle. 🌸😲

Did you know that chocolate starts its journey in colorful pods like these? While there are many sub-varieties, cacao pods generally fall into distinct color groups during their growing phase:
🟢 Forastero / Green Variety: This hardy and highly productive variety typically produces large, smooth green pods that turn yellow when fully ripe. It makes up the vast majority of global cocoa production.
🔴 Criollo & Trinitario / Red Variety: These rare and premium varieties often sprout striking red or deep purple pods. They are highly prized by craft chocolate makers for their complex, fine flavor profiles.
Both types showcase cauliflory—the unique botanical trait where flowers and fruits grow directly on the main trunk and old branches rather than on new twigs!
