๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐! ๐จ
Someone tried to scam me today! ๐ Luckily, God really gifted me with strong instincts because I always trust my gut. ๐คฃ
This person was pretending to be my cousinโs classmate, and apparently her sister was also my batchmate back in school. She tried to book my 2BR unit at The Villages and even asked me to pick her up at Clark Airportโwhich is something I actually do when guests request it, so at first, everything seemed believable.
But then things started getting suspicious. She kept saying that she was sending money to me, but at the same time, she wanted ME to transfer money to someone else first because she was supposedly in a rush and didnโt want to pay a penalty.
I insisted that I would only make the payment once I actually received the money in my account. But she kept insisting that she had already sent it and even showed me โproofโ of the transfer. ๐
Of course, I didnโt fall for it.
So I went to my cousinโs house to confirm if it was really her. And guess what? My cousin also had the same feeling that something was off because this person wasnโt speaking Kapampangan! ๐๐คช Same reason I had in the beginning!
So I went to their house just to warn them that someone was using their family memberโs identity to scam people. We even had a video call with the REAL Ronalyn, and they apologizedโwhich of course wasnโt their fault at all.
Honestly, itโs kind of funny because this scammer clearly doesnโt know me. ๐
If youโre going to scam me, at least make it believable! ๐คฃ Because I will verify, confirm, double-check, and probably investigate everything before I trust you. ๐
Stay alert, everyone! Never send money to anyone on someone elseโs behalf unless you have actually received and verified the payment first.
