Maltus didn't inherit Saint-Émilion's w**emaking traditions; he challenged and re-envisioned them. As one of the original "garagistes" and the first non-Frenchman to make w**e in Bordeaux, his journey began with a singular focus on grape quality and an aim to distinctly express the inherent excellence of the terroir.

Established in 1996 as a pioneering micro-cuvée, Le Dôme quickly became renowned in Saint-Émilion for its exceptionally high proportion of Cabernet Franc. Situated amidst prestigious châteaux like Angélus and Beauséjour-Duffau, and a short distance away from Cheval Blanc and La Dominique, this distinctive estate embodies a focused pursuit of excellence, setting itself apart with its unique varietal composition.

The 2016 Le Dôme, comprised of 80% Cabernet Franc and 20% Merlot, offers compelling notions of red roses, candied violets, chocolate box, and Chinese five spice, with a core of dark fruits. This leads to a full-bodied palate that is positively electric with energy, delivering layers of perfumed black raspberries, mineral sparks, and a very long, fragrant finish.

Jonathan Maltus's transformative journey in Bordeaux commenced in 1994 with Château Teyssier, his foundational estate where the renowned "garagiste" philosophy first took hold. Situated in Saint-Emilion, its unique clay-limestone terroir over limestone bedrock bestows distinctive freshness, minerality, and complexity upon its w**es.

The 2020 Teyssier, composed of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, presents exuberant notes of baked red and black plums, blackberry preserves, mulberries, and hints of licorice and lilacs. This leads to a medium-bodied palate that delivers a great intensity of black fruits with an approachable, soft texture and a refreshing finish.
