Our Story

Our goal is to bring our customers and community the best possible quality of wine in the Philippines at the best possible price. We do this in a number of ways. It all starts with how we select and source our range. For us, quality comes first. Our team is fortunate to have a lot of experience in the wine industry internationally, and extensive tasting experience in many of the world’s top wine producing countries. We draw on this experience to select wines that are palatable, suited to the Philippines food and climate, and and at a great price point. Upon landing new vintages of our wines, our panel of expert (and, importantly a few amateur!) palates taste test our wines to ensure they are drinking well when they first reach the Philippines and to help categorise, curate and be able to offer advice on these to our community. Drinking great wine is not just about paying the highest price. Winery Philippines focuses on sourcing wines from regions and wineries that have excellent quality, but are a little less known.As a result they are available at better prices. For example: did you know that Australia’s Margaret River region produces red wine blends identical to those of Bordeaux, France? The classic blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot varieties, many people cannot tell them apart in side by side blind tastings. The major difference is in the price! We source our red and white wines in far flung regions like Australia’s King Valley, Orange district, Rutherglen, or McLaren Vale. New Zealand’s Central Otago, or the Napa or Sonoma Valley’s in the United States. We avoid working work with big wine corporations who operate more as ‘brand managers’ for mass market or supermarket wines. Instead, we work directly with boutique wineries around the world, and with selected importers who share our commitment to quality, directsourcing of great quality and value for money wines. Some wines are made to be cellared, and others are meant to be consumed in the short term. While some of our wines can benefit from longer terms cellaring, we know not everyone has a cellar at home and deliberately focus on wines that are drinking well today. We keep a close eye on our wines and listen to our customer’s feedback. We don’t keep wine for sale if it’s getting beyond its peak. As a customer, you have a right to get a great bottle, drinking well for your money and we’re committed to providing it to you. All our wines are kept in our air conditioned warehouse, and our online only model means we can ensure minimal handling and transport of the wines before they reach you. We predominantly stock wine in modern Stelvin bottle caps, which is superior for long term cellaring and eliminates the risk of wine corkage or oxidisation, especially in the tropics. Lastly, we stand by our quality.
