BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Brunei — Food and agricultural products from the Soccsksargen region are taking center stage at the Halal Philippines Pavilion during the 33rd Consumer Fair and Trade Expo, which opened Wednesday at the International Convention Centre in Berakas.
Representing the region's agribusiness sector are Gabriel Fruit Production and Processing from Tulunan, Cotabato, showcasing its mango products; Eleanor Tsokolate of Dalangdang Creek Farms from Malungon, Sarangani Province, featuring cacao items; and Kape Kidapawan from Kidapawan City, displaying local coffee.
The pavilion runs through June 28, showcasing Philippine food, wellness, and lifestyle products to Bruneian consumers and prospective business partners. Visitors can sample products, meet regional exporters, and explore trade opportunities.
The Department of Agriculture’s Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (DA-AMAD) also joined Philippine delegates to support regional exhibitors.
DA-AMAD Chief Mike Intao said the international exhibition serves as a vital platform for local enterprises to expand their market reach and study global trade standards.
“Through this initiative, we aim to provide our farmers and agripreneurs with opportunities to market their products, establish connections with institutional buyers, and gain exposure to modern agricultural technologies,” Intao said.
He added that the five-day expo allows regional representatives to discover innovative farming techniques and forge strategic business partnerships with international buyers.
The exhibition is a joint initiative of the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry-Export Marketing Bureau, the Department of Agriculture, and the Philippine Embassy in Brunei, alongside trade and agricultural offices in Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok. The five-day expo is organized by D'Sunlit Sdn. Bhd.
