The new Mr. Pares branch in Poblacion, Makati is a great addition to the area, offering a taste of authentic Filipino comfort food. Perfect for dinner before hitting the bars around the area.

The Location: Situated in the bustling and vibrant Poblacion neighborhood, specifically in the old Makati red light district of Burgos, the restaurant is easy to find in one of the side streets of Burgos. The area's lively atmosphere adds to the experience, though it's worth noting that traffic can be heavy, especially during peak hours.

The Place: The ambiance is casual and welcoming, with a vibrant and colorful decor that makes it an ideal spot for a relaxed meal with the gang before bar hopping or early breakfast before going home. The space feels comfortable and unpretentious, which is perfect for enjoying a hearty, no-fuss meal.

The Food: I suggest The "Mister Overload" pares for dinner and their “Breakfast Overload” silog for.. what else … BREAKFAST! Both with unli-rice and soup!

The "Mister Overload" pares itself is delicious, with tender, well-seasoned beef, bone marrow, bagnet, and chicharon bulaklak.

The “Breakfast Overload” silog has the usual suspects like sunny side up egg, longganisa, tocino and tapa. Worth mentioning is the tapa which so tender with just the right blend of garlicky and savory with just a hint of sweetness.

Overall, the food is a big win for those looking for a flavorful and filling meal that won't break the bank. Super yummy!

Paminsan minsan na-aaya ng boss mo na nakaka-LL kaya pass muna sa budget meal. 😆

Nagsimula sa sikat nilang appetizer na Crispy Cassava Chips. Malutong, manipis at masarap isawsaw sa mainit init pa na onion dip! Super Yummy!

Sinundan ng made from scratch na mushroom soup kaya sakto lang at hindi maalat. Super yummy din!

Tapos yung main course ko yung sirloin tapsilog. Medyo manamis namis sya parang tocino. Swak naman eto siguro sa panlasa ng nakararami kasi mga Pinoy naman talaga mahilig sa matamis. Ang gusto ko naman mas mabawang at more on the savory side. Pero malambot ang karne at hindi malitid. Kaya yummy pa din naman.

Double pork chop with java rice. Pero meron din option na 2 plain rice.

Lambot ng meat. Pero ang nagdadala talaga dito yung gravy na creamy and buttery. Sa gravy pa lang makaka-1 cup of rice ka na😋

This is rated super yummy!

Saktong lunch at nasa Makati ako.

Sinubukan ko kumain Dito sa Mr. Bogchi sa may food park ng Enterprise Center.

Pinagpipili-an ko yung pares (beef) brisket special o yung crispy (chicken skin) pares.

Common na yung beef pares so sinubukan ko yung crispy pares.

Crispy nga sya! Light lang ang breading at pantay ang lutong.

Meron pa libre unli-soup. Sakto sa Araw de peligro😅

As we near a hundred followers, I just want to show my appreciation to all those who found my posts interesting enough to follow this page.

I started this page as a way to document my foodventures with my family.

We are a an average middle class Filipino family na nakaka-LL naman. Umaangat lang ng isang dangkal sa pagiging hampy 😅

My family and friends appreciate my food recos and they always tell me to start a food blog. So I finally took the plunge.

Although we love food, we are a family of introverts who like to keep things private hence this FB page.

The name of the page comes from me asking our kid every time we eat out or order in if the food is yummy. Hence the ratings guide.

I love to cook for my family and we love to eat but I do not pretend to be a chef or an accomplished food critic.

Meron kami nabasa dati na nagpapasalamat sa mga food bloggers/vloggers dahil madami na sila nakainan na hindi masarap. at napapangiti na lang kami.

We try to veer away from trending food places and would rather discover hidden gems and share our unbiased, balanced opinion on the food we taste and the places we experience.

It rained hard yesterday so tinamad na kami lumabas. So we decided to just order from Food Panda. Gusto sana namin try ang Chick Chicken kaya lang yung branch na malapit sa amin (Makati - Zapote branch) walang delivery.

So we decided to look for alternatives and found Super Chicken Tenders - Manila. We ordered the Cheesy Mushroom Gravy loaded fried chicken and coleslaw.

The order came in a white take out box and medyo naalog yata at nawala na yung food presentation. 😅

But the food was yummy!

The meat of the chicken tenders was well... tender😅. The breading was still crispy. The cheesy mushroom gravy was flavorful.

The vegetables in the coleslaw was still crisp and not soggy. Medyo bitin yung dressing sa akin so I decided to add some garlic aoli dressing which we got at 50% off from Shopwise last week and that really leveled up the taste! super yummy!
