Today, we expanded our Better Rivers PH program to Cebu with the launch of the Butuanon River cleanup project in Mandaue City.

In support of the government’s Oplan Kontra Baha initiative, the project covers a four-kilometer section of the river, where we will remove silt and waste that have restricted water flow and contributed to flooding during heavy rains. The cleanup is being carried out at no cost to the government and in partnership with the DPWH, DENR, and the Mandaue City LGU.

“Mandaue has long been home to San Miguel and to generations of our employees, and we are glad to support the government in this effort to help reduce flooding and protect communities.” - SMC Chairman and CEO Ramon S. Ang.

Follow Better Rivers PH for updates on our ongoing river cleanup efforts and to see where we're headed next.

Today, we honor the courage of the heroes who fought for our freedom, and the dedication of every Filipino who continues to work for a better nation.

May their spirit inspire us to keep building, serving, and contributing to the progress of our country.

What does removing over nine million cubic meters of waste from our rivers really look like?

This video puts into perspective the scale of our river cleanup efforts across river systems in and around Metro Manila — all done voluntarily, at no cost to the government, and in close coordination with the DENR, DPWH, MMDA, and various LGUs.

But while large-scale cleanup efforts like this can help restore our rivers, keeping them clean still depends on the everyday choices we make.
Watch to see the work we're doing and why the future of our rivers depends on what we all do today.

LOOK: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., SMC Chairman and CEO Ramon S. Ang and DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon lead the opening of the new NAIA Expressway off-ramp connecting directly to Terminal 3.

The 320-meter, two-lane link, built by SMC Infrastructure, is designed to ease congestion by allowing motorists from the Skyway to bypass a major bottleneck along Andrews Avenue, cutting travel time by an estimated 15 to 25 minutes. It also includes road widening at the at-grade section near the Circulo del Mundo Rotonda.

Completed in just 12 months, the project is expected to improve airport access in time for the Holy Week travel surge.

In celebration of Women’s Month, we recently hosted our Better World Leadership Series, “Creating Legacy and Impact: Redefining Leadership Across Generations.” The event brought together employees and members of our Better World Communities for an inspiring conversation featuring mother–daughter duos Leni and Jillian Robredo, and Lyn and Ani Almario. They shared their journeys as mothers, daughters, and career women, reflecting on leadership, the choices that shaped their paths, and how they pursued their dreams.
