On 5 August 2025, during President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s state visit to India, the Philippines and India turned their bilateral relationship to a full strategic partnership.
This was formalized via a Declaration on the Establishment of a Strategic Partnership.

This new partnership was guided by an action plan meant for 2025-2029. As such, a roadmap was laid out for cooperation.

As such, the Department of Agriculture (DOA) Undersecretary and DOA delegation leader Cheryl Marie Caballero, along with Philippine Food Exporters And Manufacturers Organization (PHILFOODEX) president Ruben L. See, PHILFOODEX directors Mayose Gozon-Bautista and Bernadette San Juan - along with PHILFOODEX members - followed on the abovementioned plan of action when they connected with significant Indian government agencies
during the World Food India expo on Sept 25-27, 2025, at the Barat Mandapam Exhibition Halls.

These discussions strengthened business and commerce with regard to food processing products.

Usec Caballero as quoted, the short trip but fruitful meetings provided the DA and Philfoodex the needed mindset to effectively prepare for the PH participation in Indian food-related events.

The side meetings likewise were meaningful in relation to Global Food Safety harmonization to prepare for a healthy and nutritious diet over and above our aspirations for a food-secure world.
