"Expand" is the term usually used to mean to increase the class size of a particular subject so one could be accommodated. Requests relating to other subjects like ReEd, ES 21, EM 111 should be coursed through at the respective service departments. When raising such concern for IE subjects,... please indicate: "ID number. Advising of subjects is now carried out by students. Students should only ad
vise subjects that they are eligible to enrol in. However, there are cases wherein the system is not able to recognize that you were already able to take the pre-requisite. When faced with such concern, please indicate: "ID number. Please advise IE 224x, passed EM 111 already"
3. ENCODE. This is when you choose a schedule for each subject advised. This is the step after "advise subjects". This will be done by the students. There are cases wherein no schedules would appear for the subjects you advised. This could be because there is no offering for such subject. However, if you are sure that there is an offering for such subject but you just can't view it, please indicate: "ID number. cant enrol in IE 224x"
4. PETITION TO OFFER. Process done when students request for an off-semester subjects to be offered in a given semester. Take note this is subject to approval yet by the offering department. A yellow form should be filled up and attached with requirements (see flow in one of the photos). Minimum number of students is 6. The fee of each student for petitioned subjects is based on the total fee for a regular sized class divided equally by the number of students in the petition.
5. PETITION TO OPEN. If number of students proposing to file a petition reaches 30 students, rate/fee will be that of a regular offering. This however is still subject to approval by the offering department.
6. TUTORIAL. If number of students filing a subject petition is less than 6, a tutorial form will have to be filled up. This is also subject to approval by the offering department. Rate is equal to 75% of the total fee for a regular-sized class divided equally by the number of students in the tutorial.
7. OPEN MARKET. Initially, subjects are reserved to requesting departments. Open market refers to a time wherein these reservations will be lifted so that you can join in the class schedules that were reserved to certain departments.
8. DISSOLVED CLASSES. When classes are undersized, class status will be changed from REGULAR TO DISSOLVED. This calls for you to find another schedule then.
9. BLOCK ENROLMENT. A new provision in the system will be released starting 1st sem 2012-2013 enrolment for continuing student. This will allow regular students to merely do two clicks and automatically be enrolled. I will be posting a video on this.
10. REGULAR STUDENT. A student who will be taking the subjects as per your prospectus (no more no less) is a regular student. Thus, if you have taken even one subject in advance or are yet to take even one subject in a lower year, you will have to follow the non-block enrolment schedule and will be doing the normal online advising and enrolling process.
