DENNIS TRILLO’S MESSAGE ON PUBLIC MONEY DRAWS ATTENTION ONLINE
A statement attributed to actor Dennis Trillo is gaining attention on social media after appearing to criticize people who allegedly became wealthy through money taken from the Filipino public.
The circulating quote reads: “Kung magsalita at umasta, akala mo kung sino… Kayamanan nama’y ninakaw lamang sa mga Pilipino,” which roughly means, “The way they talk and act, you would think they are somebody important… yet their wealth was only stolen from the Filipino people.”
The statement does not name any politician, government official, family, or specific individual. Because of this, claims that Trillo was referring to a particular person remain speculation unless he directly identifies whom he meant.
The message comes at a time when corruption and the proper use of public funds continue to be widely discussed online. However, the exact origin and authenticity of this specific quote could not be independently confirmed through multiple reliable reports.
Public money belongs to the people. Whoever holds power, transparency and accountability should remain important because every peso lost to corruption is money that could have been used for schools, hospitals, roads and families who need help most.
