This story of a dedicated rescuer and loving fur mom continues to inspire others even after her death.

Erica Maligaya, coordinator of Luca’s Sanctuary, shared the inspiring story of Lerie Gem Sabado, who left behind 22 cats after she passed away on February 1, 2025 due to a stroke.

“Ma’am Lerie, pinapangako ko sayo, namin, buong Luca’s Sanctuary team na kahit ni isang pusa hindi namin pababayaan. Especially, ’yung mga cats mo. Hindi din namin kakalimutan yung advocacy mo. Dahil kahit wala ka na, patuloy pa rin ’yung advocacy mo through sa amin,” Maligaya said.
