The moment we think we have done something in our lives, it begins to bring about a negative aspect in our lives and that may be perhaps the reason why most of us are disconnected with God. The moment we realize this is a wrong way of looking at life, God is giving us the opportunity to awaken to His Divine Light.
I am therefore obligated to the few people who chose to help me in my crisis. It drizzled again this evening and it is sending me the message that what we are planning is the right thing by building a food stand outside of our residence.
The whole purpose of our existence is to be connected with Creation and other human beings. And I will take this opportunity to thank the people who chose for being a part of my existence as this also serves as a reminder to be a part of the spiritual transformation and learning of how to make our giving more important than our actions of receiving. We all get this opportunity of undergoing a spiritual transformation when we get baptized into a church following or become part of the Buddhist, Islamic or Jewish conversion rituals. But how many people grow beyond the dogma and traditions (which leaves very little room for repairing the world) and go beyond serving our ego and self-interest? How many of us reconcile what we believe and fuse it into serving basic humanity?
No matter what religious background people come from, ignoring a sincere plea for help, especially from the vulnerable or a person in distress, is considered a grave ethical failure. The Scripture mandates helping others as a fundamental commandment, and esoteric teachings emphasize that doing so repairs the world. I understand we all have problems and we cannot help others financially but there are other ways of helping others through prayers and moral support. That will be very important than actually helping others financially.
The Scripture contains explicit prohibitions against ignoring those in need. If you see someone struggling — whether it is a person in poverty or an animal carrying a heavy burden — you are biblically commanded to intervene. The Scripture teaches that remaining passive to a neighbor's struggle makes one complicit, as true empathy demands action. How can we expect the repair the world in the Iran crisis if all we do is become keypad warriors and do nothing to elevate the well-being of the Iranian people.
There is much for me to write with the difficulty of also being humble (which is a tough act to practice) as I can clearly see the hypocrisy of people who I thought were solid friends To those who remain apathetic and leave no comments or piece of advice and think they are doing a good job by promoting their egos - Good luck to you and I hope you will be doing well with the mission of your existence as I know the only time a person should remain quiet is during the time of a person grieving in the death of a loved one. And clearly, no one is dying in my family. The only thing that is dying is empathy.
I may draw a lot of negativity and criticism for this post and I am open for criticism. At least I know the feeling of what it means to be alone. Being abandoned by friends during hard times may be viewed as an act of cruelty, but it is actually a painful mechanism of God's love designed to accelerate my spiritual evolution. While human betrayal hurts deeply, the Scripture teaches that God orchestrates these moments of isolation to strip away illusions, forcing an individual to redirect his or her dependence from people back to the Creator.
I am however very thankful to God that I have a few friends who understand my situation and it brings to light the concept of a "remnant" — the small, dedicated few who truly seek the Divine — is deeply embedded in mystical and scriptural texts. Spiritual Awakening requires a monumental shift toward the "will to bestow and put in it's appropriate place" (selfless love and unity). I understand that this goes against natural instincts, and that is why the conscious effort required means only a few are ready to undertake it at any given time.
Initial spiritual awakenings are often "gifts of light" from the Divine. However, to sustain and embody this awakening, a person must exert conscious, personal effort to reflect that light back to the Creator through their actions.
I still have a long way to go and I am aware of the possible challenges that will come my way and I truly pray that I shall be able to integrate this wisdom, and put in the daily, dedicated inner work of my life that will be needed to manifest these spiritual truths into reality.
