Sallynaturefarm

Sallynaturefarm Sally'snaturefarm is a challenge to turn sand-dunes like kind of soil into a productive organic farm of high-value crops and destination for farm tourism.

SallyNatureFarm is an on-going project to turn a barren, sandy two acres of land into a productive first natural farm in its locality. The core of its operation is focus on producing safe, chemical free crops and livestock for food. It will strive to adhere to a strict natural/organic method of producing vegetables, livestock for personal consumption. Also, to produce high-value crops for domestic

market. Its technology is anchored on the use of Effective Microorganisms (EM) as well as Indigenous Micro Organisms (IMO) beneficial to the soil. To minimize its environmental impact, SallyNatureFarm will incorporate the practice of Zero Waste Management in its everyday operation. SallyNatureFarm is in its initial stage of development. Its ambitious goal is to combine farming and tourism, thus, a destination for AgriTourism in the province of Ilocos Norte. This is in line with Governor Imee Marcos thrust of program to turn the province as a hub for Organic Farming and center for AgriTourism in the north. SallyNatureFarm is inspired by CostalesNatureFarm in Majayjay, Laguna, a premiere organic farm destination in the country. As there are only about three percent of the total farmers in the country today who are into natural/organic way of farming. It's imperative for SallyNatureFarm to share the technology and spread the news of organic farming into the community. It’s an uphill battle to change the mind-set of a farmer who for a very long time dependent in the use of synthetic chemicals to adapt and revert back to natural way of farming. The damage on health of the farmers, to the environment and to the consumers as a result of prolong use of synthetic chemicals in farming has now push the envelope to reconsider the use of these harmful chemicals in a agro-industrial scale. A five minute drive away from the famous, UNESCO Heritage site of St. Augustine Church of Paoay. Sally’sNatureFarm is situated just half-kilometer away from Culili Point Sand Dunes, sandwich between the church of Iglesia Ni Crisot (INC) and Later Day Saint's Church of Mormons in Callaguip, Paoay, Ilocos Norte.

Sallynaturefarm in its second year of operation had conducted two (2) Season-Long Farmers Field School in Vegetable Productions with emphasis on Organic Farming Technology and Integrated Pest Management (IPM). Both trainings were facilitated by the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) of Paoay and Agriculture Training Institute of Batac City respectively.

Sallynaturefarm is slowly achieving its goal of providing naturally-grown, pesticide-free and chemical-free, high quality vegetables to the community. Moreover, of becoming a catalyst in spreading the good benefits of farming sans chemical inputs.
