Ever wondered what they meant in the Christmas carol “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” when they sing:

“Now bring us some figgy pudding
Now bring us some figgy pudding
Now bring us some figgy pudding
And bring some out here”

Figgy pudding is also known as plum pudding. Back in the day, the word “plum” was a general term for dried fruits like raisins and currants, rather than fresh plums.

Because it was traditionally served during the holidays, it later became known as Christmas pudding—a true festive classic!
