Mumsy's Delight started when I witnessed my kababayans going crazy over buying imported goods from the US, European countries, and other Asian countries. My husband and I are both practicing ICU Registered Nurses. I graduated from Georgetown University and my husband was raise
d under the Jesuit teachings of Ateneo De Zamboanga University. We have 5 wonderful kids. Our 2 beautiful sets of twin girls and our handsome son, have been molded with the practices and values of the Brothers of De La Salle Santiago Zobel. It all began when we uprooted our children back home to the Philippines to learn our traditions and culture, so that they may grow with the Filipino values, which we are so proud of as parents. Since my children were still accustomed to American food, Mumsy here would keep on sending them balikbayan boxes full of goodies bought from places like Trader Joes, Wholefoods, Target, and more to mention. My kids would bring some of these goodies as their packed lunch and whenever their classmates and friends would see them eating these treats, they'd ask them if they could buy what they were eating. Until one day, Bernice and Meagan thought of selling their share of Trader Joes Cookie Butter spread, Biscoff cookies, chocolates, peanut butter, and candies. While these twins were making extra money, Paolo my youngest son, got jealous and decided to sell his share of Gummy bears, fancy popcorn, and other sweets. Having five children, one would always want to be different from the others. Like my oldest twins, Patricia and Kasandra, who are fond of baking brownies and different types of delicious and irresistable cookies. They thought of experimenting what to put between these cookies like cookie butter, peanut butter, marshmallows, chocolate spread, and of course, ice cream. Ice cream between two homemade and freshly baked, warm cookies became an instant hit with the children and their friends which triggered them to also sell in our neighborhood. Not wanting to only sell sweet snacks, my family decided to learn how to make the famous summer beverage, "Milk Tea." We experimented with different flavors and came up with our very own best seller, Mocha Valencia, our not so sweet but to die for Okinawa, our kicker Hokkaido and much more. Our goal was not just to sell imported products but rather to create an experience. An experience that would bring every person who walks through the doors of Mumsy's Delight into what the family has enjoyed for many years. We have ways to keep our products affordable, thus smashing the old business rule of high quality equals high prices. Mumsy's Delight would like you to enjoy a simple yet delicious and comforting treat.
