There are typical charcuterie boards. And then there's THIS ⬇️

Abba Grill and Deli serves 2 kinds of Mediterranean mezze-style grazing platters. The one below is the bolder INDO-MEDITERRANEAN platter MEZZALA that totally does away with cold cuts and deli cheese. (The other one, not pictured here, is MEZZA that still has Italian and Spanish cold cuts and cheese, still part of Mediterranean cuisine.)

MEZZALA is a delectably abundant platter with samosa (with spicy tamarind dip), cocktail chicken kebabs (with garlic sauce resembling Lebanese toum), hummus and crudités, and for cheese, Greek feta and Indian paneer marinated in olive oil, spices, and herbs.

It's a healthier, less-salt, yet more flavorful alternative to traditional charcuterie platters. It's divine with wine, too!

These are grazing platters LEVELED UP.

Go for a classic charcuterie-and-cheese, or go bold with a Mediterranean or Indo-Mediterranean platter.

These platters are culinary-curated, which means that the elements pair well or "make sense," not randomly placed together:

TRIA is great for first-timers with its mild or familiar cheeses, two kinds of cold cuts, and traditional palate-cleansers like nuts, olives, and grapes. Nothing exotic, spicy, or out-of-the-norm in the way grazing platters go. It's the "safe choice" for gifting if you're not sure how the intended may react to more adventurous choices.

MEZZA is what grazing platters are like in the Mediterranean region that includes Italy and Spain, thus the inclusion of Italian Salami and Spanish Manchego. Mezza is halfway familiar with these charcuterie-and-cheese staples, but also has Hummus and Greek Feta cheese, which are basic in any "meze" or Mediterranean grazing board.

MEZZALA brings in more flavors to broadly capture the Indo-Mediterranean spice family. In place of cold cuts are smokey kebabs with an intense dipping sauce from the Middle East, and Samosas and Paneer from even farther east. And there are nutrients-dense dates, grapes, hummus and crudités to add more texture, color, and depth to this amazing platter.

Don is a chef who worked in restaurants and hotels in Boracay and Manila. Of all cooking methods, grilling is his favorite. Ivy is a writer and former English professor whose love for cheese and charcuterie started at a deli near the university where she used to teach.

Good morning! Our messenger was on fire up to the wee hours last night for last-minute orders. For this afternoon/evening's (Dec 24) and tomorrow morning's (Dec 25) deliveries, we're finalizing orders. Please PM us by noon today to "pahabol" yours. For today's deliveries, preference for Southbound (Pasig, Mandaluyong, etc.) or Eastbound (towards Marikina, Antipolo) because we're headed in these directions.

But of course, orders post-Christmas or for the New Year need no rush :-)

BTW, we weren't expecting this one, the Mediterranean platter, to be the most inquired about. Makes our hearts sing!

After Dec. 25, we'll post a NEW Mediterranean platter with tiny kebabs and more crudités for New Year's orders.
