Our First Trade Fair Experience!

A memorable milestone for us as we proudly displayed our product for the first time at a trade fair!

Halina at tikman ang aming Bignay Jam, made with the unique flavor of bignay and crafted with love. We’re grateful to have participated in the Maharlikain Fair 2026 at NUCITI Central and to have had the opportunity to introduce our product to more people.

The YFC National Program Management Team (NPMT), together with the MIMAROPA PMT, conducted the monitoring and assessment of the initial implementation of YFC MIMAROPA National Awardees under the Start-Up and Intercollegiate Categories.

The monitoring covered the following MIMAROPA National Awardees:

San Jose, Occidental Mindoro

The activity aimed to assess and validate the implementation of the awardees’ enterprises in accordance with their submitted Business Model Canvas (BMC) and Work and Financial Plan, as well as identify their accomplishments, challenges, and areas for further support.

We are grateful to the Provincial Agriculture Center (PAC) for assisting us in the product development of our Bignay Syrup, with the expertise and guidance of Ma’am Jan Elleah Gasmeña, Food Technologist. They helped us formulate an initial syrup-making process, and our final output is now under observation for further evaluation.

We also had the opportunity to learn about the other functions of PAC. Special thanks to YAMAN and YFC MIMAROPA for helping us access this opportunity through our membership, and to the Provincial Office for allowing us to utilize the services of PAC.

Truly, every step brings us closer to making FRS Bignay Bliss a “Berry Good Choice!” 💜

Bignay fruits on the same cluster don't ripen all at once because their flowers bloom and are pollinated at different times. This means each fruit develops at its own pace. Factors such as sunlight, nutrient availability, and the plant's natural growth pattern also influence ripening, which is why you can often see green, red, and black (fully ripe) fruits growing together on a single cluster.
