Kapag na-lost ang isang leg o claw nila (dahil sa away, predator, o accident), unti-unti itong tutubo pabalik sa susunod na molting cycle nila. Hindi perfect kaagad ang bagong parte pero lumalaki ito habang paulit-ulit silang nagmo-molt.

Ito ay dahil sa hemocyanin, isang copper-based compound na nasa dugo nila, imbes na hemoglobin (iron-based) na meron tayong mga tao. Kaya pag na-cut o na-injure ang crayfish, makikita mo ang halos transparent o light-blue na "dugo."

Structure of a Crayfish (Simple Guide)
Did you know a crayfish is built for both defense and survival? Here’s a quick breakdown:
1️⃣ Hard Exoskeleton – Acts like armor, protecting the crayfish and supporting its body.
2️⃣ Cephalothorax (Head + Body) – Contains the eyes, antennae, and 5 pairs of walking legs. The first pair forms strong claws (chelipeds) used for catching food and protection.
3️⃣ Abdomen (Tail Part) – Has swimmerets for movement and reproduction. The tail fan (telson + uropods) helps the crayfish escape quickly by swimming backward.
💡 Fun Fact: Crayfish can snap their tail to shoot backward in seconds when threatened!
