The YIPOA interns are implementing plastic mulching technology in their assigned farm plots as part of sustainable crop production practices. The use of plastic mulch helps suppress the rapid growth of unwanted plants (weeds), reducing the need for frequent manual weeding and minimizing competition for essential nutrients. It also helps conserve soil moisture by reducing evaporation, maintaining more stable soil conditions, and improving water efficiency. Through this practice, the interns are gaining hands-on experience in modern farming techniques that contribute to healthier crop development, improved productivity, and more efficient farm management.
