Rice is ready. Is your bistek? 🥩🍋🔥

Some dishes just taste like home, and Bistek Tagalog is one of them. Juicy sirloin, a zesty soy-calamansi marinade, and sweet, golden onion rings piled on top. Simple ingredients. Big, bold flavor. 😍

What you’ll need:
🥩 1 1/2 lbs beef sirloin or striploin, thinly sliced
🍶 5 tbsp soy sauce
🍋 4 pcs calamansi (or 1 lemon)
🧄 3 cloves garlic, minced
🧅 3 onions, sliced into rings
🌶️ 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
💧 1 cup water, 4 tbsp cooking oil, and a pinch of salt

Quick steps:
1️⃣ Marinate the beef in soy sauce, calamansi, and black pepper for at least 1 hour (overnight is even better!)
2️⃣ Pan-fry half the onions until soft, then set aside
3️⃣ Sear the beef for 1 minute per side
4️⃣ Sauté the garlic and remaining onions, then pour in the marinade and water
5️⃣ Return the beef, cover, and simmer until fork-tender
6️⃣ Season, top with the fried onions, and serve hot over steaming rice 🍚

Pro tip: Freshly cracked whole black pepper takes this dish from good to unforgettable. 🖤
