Today, the universe pauses its regular programming to celebrate an absolute powerhouse of a human being, the one, the only, Melissa Grace Olit! Happy Birthday to a phenomenal director who doesn’t just run the workplace, but transforms it into a masterpiece. Dir. Olit, you are the ultimate definition of a visionary leader, steering our ship with unmatched poise, sharp strategy, and an inspiring drive that motivates us all to level up every single day.

The PSU Business Affairs Office and Auxiliary Services, in collaboration with the Provincial Government of Palawan and the Palawan Tourism Council, proudly participated in the “Amos Tara” pop-up activity held at the Old Governor’s House.

Anchored on the University’s vision of innovative and transformative education towards sustainable development, the initiative highlights the role of university-led enterprises in promoting local tourism, culture, and community-based enterprise development.

As part of the showcase, the PSU Canteen featured a selection of classic Filipino delicacies, including empanada, banana bread, brownies, crinkles, and classic rice puto—reflecting a balance of culinary heritage and food innovation.

This participation supports sustainability-focused goals by strengthening local food systems, promoting cultural tourism, and advancing responsible enterprise practices that contribute to inclusive economic growth.

A yearly assessment and compliance monitoring was conducted in coordination with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Community Environment and Natural Resources Office as part of the SIFMA Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). The activity ensured compliance with environmental regulations and evaluated forest management practices for improvement.

A meeting was held with the SIFMA tapper to discuss production status, operational concerns, and sustainable rubber tapping practices in line with DENR standards.

Findings showed that farmers’ wives are now also working as tappers, while some children assist in transporting latex. Some youth are out of school due to the remote mountainous location of Rizal with limited access to secondary education. Most families involved are Indigenous Peoples (IPs), highlighting the need for inclusive support.

A total of 4,858 kilograms of cuplump latex from February to March was sold. Profit sharing is implemented at 45% for farmers and 55% for PSU, contributing to both community income and institutional support.

The activity supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 1, SDG 4, SDG 5, SDG 12, SDG 13, and SDG 15.
