Good Food Community

Good Food Community We're about growing a sustainable society that nourishes everyone—you, the farmers, the land and generations to come through Community Shared Agriculture.

How do we bring fresh and ethically sourced organic produce from smallholder farmers to your kitchen? By sharing in a commitment. Your commitment to eat healthy meets our farmers' commitment to grow nutritious food-- and together we grow a sustainable food system. Community Shared Agriculture (CSA) is an alternative distribution system where consumers, via farmshare subscriptions, are invited to p

ay upfront for a share of the harvest, thereby assuring the producer a steady demand and price. Consumers get a weekly supply of seasonal fresh organic produce and farmers can focus on cultivating a natural biodiversity in their farm ecosystems without worrying about market risk. Beyond economics, CSA is about reconnecting people, land and community. If we can connect socially aware city-dwellers with small holder farmers in a re-localized food economy, we will make farming more sustainable, conserve and protect our soil resources and build the health of our communities. With your support and participation, we are growing a new social change model that can be replicated all over the Philippines and the world. Be part of our Good Food Community today! Choco-peanut cassava piyaya? 🤯 This was one of the playful concoctions created at The Best Food for Energy Workshop last month.

Aside from preparing energy-boosting snacks together, we learned about the relationship of sugar consumption to energy, how certain types of food support the mighty mitochondria, and what types of food to avoid to prevent damage to these powerhouses of the cell.

We hope you can join us at our next workshop, where we’ll learn how to consume food in a way that is in-line with our daily rhythms.

Look forward to spending the day with other like-minded community members, eating tasty, creative vegan treats, and improving your energy levels with the guidance of our subscriber-nutritionist Maddy Jiao.

You can join us at the Part 2 on Sunday August 16 from 1:30pm - 4pm at Good Food Sundays. Register through our website, link in bio!

Walang sino man ang dapat makulong dahil dito.

HAPPENING NOW: !

As President Marcos Jr. prepares to deliver his 5th SONA, the gap between official optimism and economic reality is even more pronounced. Meanwhile, elite political infighting increasingly overshadows urgent national concerns, while intensifying geopolitical rivalries draw the Philippines deeper into conflicts beyond its control.

Good Food joined the Commission on Human Rights’ (CHR) monthly Kapihan at Kamustahan last month, which drew the direct connections between trade, food systems, and human rights.

When people talk of trade, we get the impression that it’s all about a macro perspective, the domain of economic planners. But the conversation, attended by farmers and consumers and led by Commissioner Judge Maria Amifaith S. Fider-Reyes (Ret.), Co-Focal Commissioner on the Right to Food Security, showed that these trade policies are directly felt by Filipinos everyday, whether it’s the ability to grow food sustainably or what we put on our plates at mealtimes—thus the need to understand and engage with this issues.

Spotlit in the conversation is the Filipino farmers’ right to seeds, which is being threatened by the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV), an international legal framework being advanced by the World Trade Organization and other related Free Trade Agreements. Eliseo Ruzol Jr. of MASIPAG shared the concept of Seed Commons and the farmer-led, community-driven practices that keep seeds free from corporate capture, whether via technology such as GMOs or laws such as UPOV.

Good Food, and our community of farmers and consumers, supports the struggle to defend our farmers’ right to seeds. We see the seed commons rather than seed capture as the way to protect the people's right to safe, affordable, diverse and nutritious food. To learn more about this issue, visit: stopupov.org.

I’d been sitting on this post for a long time. I wasn’t quite sure on how to advocate for inconvenience because I’m still struggling with it myself.

There are days when the struggle is lighter, and days when it is heavier. It doesn’t seem like a choice we would willfully make for ourselves. But to also yield to the current system of “the way the world works” doesn’t sit well with me either.

So in the meantime, we seek fellow stubborn, delusional and audacious people who also believe in the possibility of better futures around food. If that sounds like you, I hope to connect with you.

Also, follow other folks who help us dream of better futures when we are in solidarity with each other. Tayo vs. kanya-kanya. Good Food Community 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗧𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄 Good Food Sundays Gulay Pa More! MASIPAG Farmers Rural Women Advocates SAKA at marami pang iba! Hapag Ugnayan
