Smash Burger Tacos
Ingredients
700 g ground beef
200 g Euro Chef Mozzarella, gated
1 cup lettuce, shredded
8-10 pcs mini tortillas
For the Caramelized Onion
2-4 pcs white onion, sliced
25 grams unsalted butter
15 grams extra virgin olive oil
For the Sauce
5 tbsp mayonnaise
4 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp BornierDijon mustard
2 tbsp DV Balsamic vinegar
1–2 tbsp caramelized onion
1 tsp Chiquilin Smoked paprika
1 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp garlic powder
Salt to taste
For the Caramelized Onion:
1. Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-low heat.
2. Add the sliced onions with a pinch of salt. Stir to coat in the butter/oil.
3. Cook slowly for 30-45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onions are deeply golden and caramelized. Set aside
Instructions:
1. In a mixing bowl, season the beef with salt and pepper. Set aside.
2. Form small beef balls, then smash them thin inside the tortillas.
3. Heat oil in a pan. Place tortillas upside down and sear the beef for 2–3 minutes, or until cooked.
4. While the beef cooks, prepare the sauce. In a bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, Dijon mustard, balsamic vinegar, paprika, chili powder, black pepper, and garlic powder until combined. Stir in caramelized onion. Taste, then adjust with salt and pepper.
5. To assemble, spread the sauce on the tortilla, then add shredded lettuce and grated mozzarella
6. Heat a skillet or griddle. Place the tortilla on the pan and flip until lightly crisp while the cheese melts. Serve hot
