Behind every dish I serve at The Cozy Kitchen with Shie is a story not everyone sees — a story of pain, faith, survival, and grace. Today, I’m ready to share mine❤️
I grew up without my father, who passed away when I was still a child. I was raised by my grandparents, and while they gave me love, there was always a part of me that longed for something more — there was always a quite emptiness in my heart - a longing for the the kind of love only parents can give I barely had the chance to feel 😔
As I got older, I searched for that love in relationships and wrong places, I held on too tightly , love too deeply and lost myself into relationships that only brought pain .I went through heartbreak after heartbreak.I went through failed relationships and experienced emotional and physical abuse. There were nights I cried in silence, questioning my worth, asking God, “Why me?” There were moments I felt lost, broken, and empty.
My life felt like chaos — heavy, painful, and uncertain.
But in the middle of that chaos… God was working.
When I thought I was alone, He was carrying me.
When I felt weak, He was strengthening me.
When I was breaking, He was quietly rebuilding me.
Instead of letting my past define me, I chose to rise from it. I chose to stand up, even when my knees were shaking. I chose to keep going, even when everything in me wanted to give up.
I became an OFW, carrying not just my responsibilities, but also my wounds, my dreams, and my prayers. And somewhere along that journey, I realized something powerful —
I am not what I went through… I am what I choose to become.
And slowly, I found my way back to myself… to the one thing that brings me peace — cooking and baking. 💛
Behind all the struggles and chaos, I came to a point where I decided to build something from my pain. That is where The Cozy Kitchen with Shie was born — not just to share delicious food, but to share my story, my healing, and to inspire others who are going through what I once did.
This is more than just a kitchen.
It is my healing.
It is my courage.
It is my testimony.
It is my second chance.
Every dish I make carries love, hope, and a reminder that no matter how broken you feel, you can still rise and create something beautiful.
I am doing this not only to follow my passion, but also to build a better future — to save for my medical needs and support my daily life. This journey is not easy, but it is meaningful.
To anyone who is struggling right now — please don’t give up. Your story is still being written. God sees your tears, hears your prayers, and knows your heart. One day, you will understand why you had to go through it all.
One day, your pain will turn into purpose too.
Thank you for supporting me, believing in me, and being part of my journey. 🤍
This is just the beginning… and I am stronger than ever.
From pain to purpose… from brokenness to forgiveness… this is my story. ✨
