๐ฅ๐ต๐ญ WORLD JUNIOR CHAMP TACHIANA MANGIN BEGINS ASIAN GAMES GOLD BID! ๐ฅ
Tachiana Keizha Mangin steps onto the Asian Games stage on October 2 in the womenโs taekwondo -49kg division, with action running from the Round of 16 through the medal rounds. Still only 18, Mangin is already one of the Philippinesโ brightest young combat-sports prospects, having won the 2024 World Taekwondo Junior Championships at -49kg and the 2025 SEA Games gold.
She has also shown she can compete with top senior opposition. Mangin took silver at the 2025 Chuncheon Korea Open, beating Korean opponents Kim Minchae and An Byeo-ri before falling to Hyang-Gi Kim in the final. Her 2026 campaign has included tough tests at the Asian Championships and major Korean events as the Philippine team prepared specifically for Aichi-Nagoya.
The Philippines has never won an Asian Games taekwondo gold, despite collecting close to 30 medals in the sport over four decades. That gives Mangin a chance to do something truly historic: turn her junior-world pedigree and SEA Games success into the countryโs first Asiad taekwondo title. GO FOR GOLD, TACHIANA! ๐ต๐ญ๐ฅ๐ฅ
