Harmony Is Overrated.
Every organisation eventually discovers the same truth: people disagree. Committees divide, leaders change, volunteers burn out, personalities collide, and someone eventually sends that email. Conflict is not a sign that an organisation has failed. It is a sign that human beings have arrived.
That is why we are delighted to welcome Ms Irene D. Alogoc, former Executive Director of the Office for Alternative Dispute Resolution at the Philippine Department of Justice and founder of AIREC, to Melbourne to lead Leading Together, an executive leadership masterclass on governance, negotiation and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
Rather than teaching organisations how to avoid disagreement, Irene teaches something far more valuable: how to lead through it. Strong organisations are not built on perpetual harmony. They are built by leaders who can listen, negotiate, make difficult decisions and preserve relationships when opinions inevitably diverge.
If you are involved in a community organisation, business association or not-for-profit, this workshop will provide practical leadership tools that are immediately applicable. Because the most successful organisations are not those that never argue, they are the ones that know how to argue without falling apart.
