Museum Foundation of the Philippines & Sanfo 101 Partnership Opens New Pathways for Future Heritage Professionals

September 09, 2026, marked a significant milestone for Sanfo 101 as three deserving scholars were awarded full scholarships covering the entire training track—from the Basic Course through Advanced Levels 1, 2, and 3. This achievement was made possible through the meaningful partnership between Sanfo 101 and the Museum Foundation of the Philippines (MFPI), whose grant strengthens our shared commitment to advancing museum education, conservation training, and capacity building within the cultural heritage sector.

In the presence of the Board and Trustees of MFPI and of Sanfo 101, Ms. Ana Maria Gonzales-Felizardo, Ms. Karen Nina L. Carrera, and Ms. Mikaela Louise De Guzman received their Certificates of Awarding and formally signed their Scholarship Agreements. Their selection reflects their dedication to responsible conservation practice and marks an important step toward empowering new practitioners who will help safeguard the nation’s cultural heritage.

Through this partnership, MFPI and Sanfo 101 proudly stand beside the scholars as they begin a journey of learning, service, and meaningful contribution to the preservation of our shared heritage.

Advanced 1: Art Restoration & Conservation Workshop

Safety is a core operational principle of Sanfo 101, and this is reflected in the way all training sessions are structured. Before any participant is allowed to handle tools, solutions, or laboratory materials, a thorough orientation on chemical hazards, safe handling practices and disposal, and required protective gear is conducted. This briefing ensures that learners understand the risks associated with conservation chemicals, the proper use of personal protective equipment, and the protocols for maintaining a controlled and secure workspace. By establishing these safeguards at the outset, Sanfo 101 reinforces a culture of responsibility and prepares participants to engage in hands-on conservation work with confidence and care.
