The other day, I sowed seeds. Some were planted just right, close enough to the surface to receive warmth and light. Others, I buried a little too deep, covered with cocopeat. You could tell they were ready to grow—they had everything inside them to break through. But the depth held them back. They struggled, not because they lacked potential, but because the conditions made it harder for them to rise.
Life works the same way.
There are people who are ready to grow, ready to move forward, ready to become more—but they’re planted in difficult conditions. Some are weighed down by economic pressure, inflation, or unstable systems. Others carry personal burdens—health struggles, family responsibilities, or environments that don’t support their progress. It’s not a lack of drive or ability. Sometimes, it’s simply that they’ve been placed deeper than others.
Growth isn’t just about desire. It’s about environment, timing, and the weight you’re forced to push through.
Some will break through despite the depth. Others may take longer. And some, if not given the right support, may never reach the surface at all.
That’s why understanding matters. Before judging someone’s pace, consider what they might be buried under. Not everyone starts at the same level, and not everyone is given the same conditions to succeed.
And if you’re the one feeling buried—don’t mistake delay for failure. Sometimes, you’re not stuck. You’re just growing under pressure.
