VET GASLIGHTING
Veterinary practices like us, often encounter some clients who gaslights their veterinarians. Sad reality but true.
Taking in to example, regarding schedules where we experienced repetitive scenarios from this certain client.
Do you think this client's statement that she can't go to her pet's appointment because she was only informed "today" of her pet's scheduled vaccination true? Of course not!
Wellness schedules such as vaccinations, are always indicated on their vaccination/vet card, clients are well informed as well before leaving the clinic as to when the next schedule would be. Then a reminder on the day of the schedule is usually sent to owners, even to a point where we remind them of the maximum allowed extensions.
But, pet health care doesn't only revolve between the vet and the patient. We hope clients would also know their duties and responsibilities as pet owners .
Pet owners/Clients must know their responsibility to be completely aware and be able to manage their pets veterinary appointment .
Pet owners/Clients must know their duty to ensure that their pet receives the necessary care and attends their scheduled appointment.
Pet owners/Client must know their duty to inform their veterinarians if they are not available on their scheduled appointment.
We hope that through this post pet owners/clients would learn to value and respect their veterinarians. And that clients would know their active role in pet health care. 🐾🐾
