PONDERINGS in the KUBO
There are nights, like tonight, when my body is exhausted and aching for rest, my mind refuses to slow down. So, I finally finished making that overdue pesto—2 kg of fresh basil and all. My thoughts are racing, especially about my parents. Watching them age is bittersweet. While I cherish every moment with them—cooking memorable meals and enjoying interactive activities—my heart aches seeing them slow down, constantly aching, and becoming forgetful. I pray that Mom and Dad remain strong and resilient. The thought of life without them is something I can't bear to imagine.

Today, the last afternoon of May, I witnessed back-to-back Santa Cruzan on every street of Santiago City . Everyone seems to be trying to cross that out in the May checklist. Now that May is about to leave us, I'd like to close this wonderful month with a photo of the most beautiful Reyna Elena in my eyes. She's none other than my mom, Catalina Cruz Ventura. I love you, Mom!
