It’s been 47 days since we transplanted our eggplants into the plot on May 28, and what a journey it’s been!

We’ve been doing periodic pruning to encourage stronger stems, better airflow, and a well-balanced plant that can support a heavier harvest in the weeks ahead.

We already have a few beautiful eggplants that should be ready for harvest in about a week’s time!

The battle continues! 😅

I added two more fruit fly traps after discovering that one of my ampalaya fruits had already been attacked.

This little guy was caught on camera, fighting every urge to get inside the trap. Hopefully, curiosity gets the better of him... and not my ampalaya.

Our eggplant plot is thriving on a nutrient-rich substrate made from garden soil, carbonized rice hull, cow manure, and goat manure. Healthy soil grows healthy plants.
