Transitioning Pili production from a home-based craft to a commercial enterprise requires specific hardware designed to handle the nut's unique properties—particularly its extremely hard, triangular shell and its high oil content.

​For an artisanal or small-batch setup, the following categories of equipment are the modern industry standards:

​. Cracking & Shelling (The Bottleneck)
​The most critical upgrade is moving away from the manual bolo.

​Rotary Bladed Cracking Machines: Specifically designed for Pili, these machines (often developed in partnership with PHilMech) can crack approximately 200 nuts per minute. They use adjustable blades to accommodate the varying sizes of Pili nuts while maintaining a high whole-kernel recovery rate (around 89%–93%).

​Mechanical Depulpers: If you are sourcing fresh fruit, a depulper can handle 60–150 kg per hour. Modern "dry-method" depulpers are preferred because they don't require water soaking, which preserves the quality of the kernel and prevents the pulp from going to waste.
