Annrose Tapar began her journey into bartending through determination, curiosity, and a commitment to personal growth. Before entering the industry, she trained at the TESDA Women’s Center, where she completed the Bartending NC II program. The center’s belief in empowering women inspired her to persevere through challenges and successfully earn her certification. That experience gave her the confidence to pursue a career in bartending and reinforced her belief that dedication and hard work can create opportunities.🍸

Her path into the industry was not without obstacles. Annrose spent long hours commuting, underwent fine dining training in Makati, and initially worked as a restaurant server, where she gained valuable knowledge in guest service and the sequence of service.

Driven by curiosity and a passion for learning, Annrose continued to seek opportunities to improve her craft. Her dedication eventually led her to LIT Manila, where she successfully passed the final interview and joined a team that believed in her potential. Now, she is proud to represent that trust and support as she takes part in her first bartending competition.

Outside of bartending, Annrose enjoys singing karaoke, listening to music, and exploring creative outlets such as coffee painting, calligraphy, and contemporary art. These artistic interests influence her approach to cocktail creation, allowing her to bring creativity, emotion, and personal expression into her work behind the bar.

The MONIN Cup 2026 holds special significance for Annrose as both a professional milestone and a personal story. Inspired by her favorite comfort treat—a strawberry macaron from Ladurée BGC—she developed a cocktail concept that reflects cherished memories, family, and her own journey while paying homage to the classic Vesper Martini. With the support of her team and mentor, Mr. Franco San, she embraces the competition as an opportunity to learn, grow, and enjoy the experience. Chris Harvey discovered his passion for bartending through an unconventional journey that began in both the corporate and specialty coffee worlds. His first exposure to the beverage industry came as a part-time barback for a mobile bar while he was still exploring his career path. Although his initial goal was to build a career in hospitality as a barista, that journey eventually led him to a specialty coffee shop where he developed a deeper appreciation for flavor, craftsmanship, and guest experience.🍹

A pivotal moment came when the coffee shop expanded into serving cocktails, introducing Chris to modern techniques such as infusions, milk washing, and fat washing. Through these methods, he began to see beverages as more than just drinks—they became vehicles for creativity, storytelling, and emotional expression.

Inspired by the artistry behind the bar, Chris found a creative outlet that resonated with his admiration for art and artists. While he never considered himself a painter or illustrator, he discovered that cocktails could become his canvas. Through flavor, aroma, technique, and presentation, he found a way to express stories, emotions, and personal experiences in a form people could taste and remember.

Chris’s decision to join the MONIN Cup 2026 was inspired by a challenge from one of his senior colleagues at Southbank Cafe & Lounge, who encouraged him to test his abilities in a competitive environment. What began as a challenge soon became an opportunity for personal growth and creative expression. For Chris, the competition represents more than technical skill—it is a platform to showcase his artistic vision through cocktails and bring his interpretation of “Timeless Twist” to life. Watching drinks being created behind the bar inspired him to learn the skills himself, and he quickly became fascinated by the opportunity to connect with guests through the drinks he served. For Kenya, bartending is more than mixing ingredients—it is about creating memorable experiences and seeing the reactions of guests as they enjoy something crafted specifically for them. 🥂

As a newcomer to the competitive bartending scene, the MONIN Cup 2026 marks Kenya’s first bartending competition. He views this opportunity as an important milestone in his development, allowing him to challenge himself, showcase his creativity, and continue growing within the industry.

Outside of bartending, Kenya is passionate about basketball and motorcycle culture. These interests have taught him focus, dedication, and the value of continuous improvement—qualities he brings into his work behind the bar.

For the MONIN Cup 2026, Kenya draws inspiration from the very beginning of his bartending journey. The first cocktail he learned to make was a Tom Collins, and during his first bartending role, a similar drink became his favorite because of its simplicity, balance, and refreshing character. Inspired by those early experiences, he created “The Beginning,” a personal interpretation of the classic Tom Collins. Featuring Japanese vodka, red wine vinegar cordial, MONIN Peach, and MONIN Sugar Cane, the cocktail is a refreshing and approachable tribute to the drink that sparked his passion for bartending. Finished with a hot sauce salt garnish for a savory kick, the creation reflects both his roots and his aspirations as he continues to build his career in the craft.⚡️
